About this place
You might plan to stop in for a quick bowl of udon, then spot the small dishes in the refrigerated case and decide to stay for another drink. At Komaichi, it is easy to build a meal as you go. One diner described snacking on meat and potatoes and octopus dressed with vinegar, sipping a chūhai, then finishing with chicken-and-scallion udon. Choosing a prepared dish from the case makes a small plate a natural way to start.
The chicken-and-scallion udon was that diner's choice for the final course. The hand-cut noodles vary in thickness, and one review describes them as smooth and easy to eat. The broth was also described as nicely balanced, making this a tempting bowl after drinks. The menu includes the restaurant's signature nabeyaki udon, as well as curry, clam and kitsune udon. Rice bowls, sushi and small dishes offer other ways to round out a meal.
Komaichi serves food late: until 4:00 the following morning from Tuesday to Saturday, and until 2:00 on Sunday. Drinks include beer, sake and highballs. Payment is cash only.
